Well, let's see how this goes. Here's hoping we can get back into RPing.
In New Meridian;
Scryer: (On a building, aiming down the scope of his rifle) Steady... *Sees his target come into view and fires, watching the corpse slump to the ground* (Into a radio) Target terminated.
Employer: Excelent! Your pay will delivered to the drop point by midnight.
Scryer: Ensure it is. The last individual who double-crossed me lost his savings, his dignity, his life and was buried in a shallow grave.
Employer: I'm not an idiot, mister Scryer. Rest assured, you will recieve your payment in money.
Scryer: Hmm. *Hangs up* *Takes out a phone and dials a number*
??: Hello?
Scryer: (Fondly) Rennay, I've finished the job and am coming home. Is there anything you want?
Rennay: *Holding the phone to her ear as she's dodging punches* A panafen and ice bag would be nice. This guy's tougher than I thought! *Punches her opponant and delivers a hook to his ribs before performing an uppercut with the other fist* *Breathing deeply* But I got lucky again.
Scryer: You give yourself too little credit. (Softly) I'll see you at home. I love you, my baby girl.
Rennay: Love you too, dad. *Hangs up and wipes her face off with a towel*
Ren's opponant: (Enraged) That wasn't fair, she should've lost!
Referee: Should have or not, she did. She won, you lost, get over it!
Opponant: *Glowers* I'll just see how tough you are without rules to protect ya! *Shoves his hands in his pockets and bring them out covered in spiked gloves*
Ren: (A bit concerned) I just got lucky! That's all!
Opponant: You fukkin' cheated! Ain't no way I'd lose to some pansy like you! *Punches an unprepared Ren in the gut* HA! Toldja, you don't deserve to be in this ring!
Ren: *Staggers, but remains standing* *Cringes in pain* Okay... *Swiftly punches at the ribs, but is blocked* *Hisses in pain and punches with the other hand*
Opponant: *Raises his gloves to protect his face*
Ren: *Punches him in the side, then the throat*
Opponant: *Gagging* That's... cheating...
Ren: *Getting angered at constantly being called a cheater* *Punches straight forward with all her might, her fist emitting a purple glow* *Fist hits his gloves and they just sort of shatter* *Punch continues through to his jaw, pretty much reducing the bone to powder* *Starts panting*
Referee: (Impressed) Well. Even when he was cheating, you still won. Congratulations. Everyone! Get this moron to the hospital! Ren, you go home. You'll get your winnings tomorrow.
Ren: (Exhausted) Thanks, ref. *Starts walking home, catching sight of a newspaper headline on the way* "Egrets gone mad!!!"? (Confused) What...? "Black Egrets have been seen mobilising more often than usual. When asked for details Parasoul declined, saying 'Piss off'. Citizins claim to have seen them shooting... skeletons..." *Is bright enough to put two and two together* Oh no... *Runs home as fast as possible with her injury*
Later;
Ren: *Wrapping bandages around the wounded area when Scryer walks in*
Scryer: … (Dangerously) Name, now.
Ren: Dad, I broke his jaw. There's no need to go any further. And we've got bigger problems, look at this! *Shows him the clipping*
Scryer: … So? The Egrets are the worst military I've ever seen.
Ren: Maybe, but Parasoul knows what she's doing.
Scryer: (Grudgingly) I will admit that much.
Ren: Yeah. So if she's keeping quiet about it, there's something wrong. And the Egrets are fighting Skeletons! I think the Skullheart's come back!
Scryer: (Unsettled) Well… Okay. It's a possibility, but we can't do anything without a lead. For now, I want you to stay on your guard, but do not let it worry you. Stress never did anyone any good.
